Basic Information
Held since 2014, the International Rapier Seminar (IRS) is a meeting of instructors and rapier combat enthusiasts from around the world. Its main aim is to promote rapier fencing in countries where rapier is still a relatively rare weapon. The IRS takes a multi-school approach, combining various rapier traditions into one event. Thus, it creates a great opportunity to exchange experience and approach, or simply to have great fun whilst fencing. This year’s edition will feature a traditional fechtshule, numerous workshops, and a tournament for the participants.

16:00 Welcome and registration
17:00 – 20:00 – Saluteand sparring! Meet the participants and spar with them.
Saturday
9:00 – 10:30 – Workshops (place 1 and 2)
10:45 – 12:15 – Workshops (place 3 and 4)
12:15 – 13:30 – Lunch break
13:30 – 15:00 – Workshops (place 5 and 6)
15:15 – 16:45 – Workshops (place 7 and 8)
17:00 – 18:30 – Workshops (place 9 and 10)
18:30 – 20:00 – Day’s end – free sparring
21:00 – IRS Dinner

9:00 – 17:00 – Tournament
9:00 – 17:00 – Freesparring spot for participants from outside the tournament (to be confirmed)

The International Rapier Seminar will take place at OSiRPolna sports centre located at ul. Polna 7A, 00-625 Warszawa—convenient public transport access to Politechnika metro station with an approx.. 5-minute walk to the centre. Motorists can access the parking located next to the building.
