The 1st edition of the First Tournament—a tournament for beginner fencers prepared by our Foundation—has just come to an end.

On Saturday of 25 June, 2022, the first edition of the First Tournament took place—a Historical Martial Arts tournament dedicated to fencers beginning their journey with HEMA. During many hours of struggle, 40 participants of women and open longsword categories took part in over 120 fights!

The winners were as follows:

Women longsword:
– Michalina Musioł – 1st place – Krakowska Szkoła Fechtunku (Cracovia School of Fencing),
– Sandrze Konopce – 2nd place – SDESW ARMA-PL Warszawa (Association for Old European Martial Arts ARMA-PL Warsaw),
– Annie Wolskiej – 3rd place – SDESW ARMA-PL Warszawa (Association for Old European Martial Arts ARMA-PL Warsaw),

Open longsword:
– Filip Damski – 1st place – Akademia Szermierzy
– Bartosz Rogacki – 2nd place – SDESW ARMA-PL Wrocław (Association for Old European Martial Arts ARMA-PL Wrocław )
– Bohdan Donchenko – 3rd place – Akademia Szermierzy

The winners of both categories received the following prizes:

1st place: PLN 800 voucher for the purchase of any HEMA equipment sponsored by the Founadtion for Historical Martial Arts and a 30% discount at SPES Historical Fencing Gear.

2nd place: 600 PLN voucher to use at Aureus Swords and 25% discount at SPES Historical Fencing Gear.

3rd place: 30% voucher to use at Poker Armory and a 20% discount at SPES Historical Fencing Gear.

The main organiser of the event was the Foundation for Historical Martial Arts. An honorary patronage was given by the Association for Old European Martial Arts ARMA-PL.
