A Sword in the Digital Hand

The Oakeshott Institute has prepared workshops on three-dimensional models of cold weapons. You can participate in them on 16 June 2021 at 4–5 p.m. Polish time on Zoom platform.


Next Wednesday, on 16 June 2021, 4–5 p.m. Polish time, “A Sword in the Digital Hand” workshops will take place. They should capture the attention not only of the reenactors of Historical European Martial Arts, but also the enthusiasts of modern technologies and computer games. The topic will focus on the research currently conducted by the Oakeshott Institute on 3D models of cold weapons.

The discussion will concern not only academic research and swords in computer games, but also various ways in which Oakeshott Institute uses 3D models to introduce the collection into the digital age. The lecture will host Dale Utt, a specialist in 3D cultural heritage, whose work focuses mainly on capturing reflective objects through the use of photogrammetry.
