On 28-29 May 2022, Battle Born 2022 will take place in Carson City, Nevada.
Battle Born 2022 will take place at the last weekend of May. It is a fencing event filled with workshops and tournaments.
The organisers have prepared interesting workshop ideas:
Myles Cupp will share the tactical approach of Salvator Fabris based on his treatise from 1606 and a comment from 1614 Vienna Anonymous. The class assumes basic knowledge on rapier fundamentals (footwork, lunges, etc.) and will focus on tactics of measure, engagement, and withdrawal.
Michael-Forest Meservy will present the concept of working in the bind and using Sprechfenster as per the tradition of Johanes Liechtenauer.
Jacob Burke, on the other hand, will share his experience on techniques to use when grappling, disarmament, wrestling with the sword, and countertechniques based on the treatises of Fiore dei Liberi and Ott Jud.
Participants will also have the chance to take part in three tournament categories: steel longsword, steel rapier, and synthetic broadsword.
