Bayou Fecht 2022

At the weekend of 28–29 May, 2022, Bayou Fecht 2022 will take place, prepared by Nachreisen Historical Fencing.

At the last weekend of May, Bayou Fecht 2022 will take place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The organisers have planned three intensive days. The event will kick off on Friday evening with a welcome cutting party. You do not need to purchase a ticket for this part of the event, just bring your weapon and something to cut: clay, gourd, etc. The whole Saturday will be devoted to a longsword tournament. On Sunday, however, there will be a dagger tournament together with three workshops:

– “HEMA Rinse and Repeat” prepared by Anne Lee Beard from Austin Historical Weapons Guild;
– “Dagger” prepared by Kyle Toelle from Cymbrogi School of Western Martial Arts;
– “To Thrust or not to Thrust” prepared by Kat Dunham from Ars Gladii.

Attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID PCR test done at least three days before the event. The organisers inform that the sanitary requirements may change depending on the number of COVID cases.
