It is our great pleasure to inform you that Ireneusz Nowak, who is The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Historical Martial Arts, was a guest in the 6th episode of a “Between Sport and Art” podcast. Irek is one of the fathers of the Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) movement in Poland and a HEMA trainer with more than a decade of experience. He is also a co-founder of Aureus Swords, a well-known company producing training simulators.

During the conversation with the podcast’s host, “Bezi” Bugrynem, Irek talked about the beginning of HEMA in Poland, the changes that happened during its development throughout the years, the typical problems that occur during interpretation of the historical sources, as well as current challenges that the discipline faces.
